vienna, austria - days 14-15 - july 20-21, 2019
This morning we arrived in Vienna, Austria. I was very excited about being in Vienna and part of me wished that we had gone to Vienna and Budapest and the beginning of the trip so we would have more energy to look around. Shelly was able to check out a lot and I was content to do some fun people watching in front of St. Stephen’s Cathedral (it was super crowded!) We went on a morning drive around the Ring Strasse to see many palaces and statues. We were dropped off at the Statue of Maria Theresa, the mother-law to most of the nobility of Europe. We had a early dinner and went to and interesting evening concert downtown. I thought that it might be rather boring, but it turned out to be quite fun! We took the bus back along the Ring Strasse at night and that was excellent. On day two of Vienna, we took it easy and relaxed aboard the ship. Shelly went to Mass at St. Francis of Assisi (the Mexico Church), which was right down the Danube from our ship.
