Viking gefjon

In July 2019 we took the Viking Gefjon from Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Budapest, Hungary. We travelled down the Rhine, Main, and Danube Rivers. The ship and service was excellent and we had a wonderful time. Travelling by ship is the way to go, you unpack once and your hotel room moves along each day.

The crew on this ship were excellent. Kane Davies, our Program Director was excellent and making sure that everyone had a good time and were on the correct excursion each day (not a small task). Our wonderful servers Theodora and Glenn took wonderful care of us at all meals, and Executive Chef Chester’s meals were fantastic.

What was most amazing to me was that we seemed to get used to eating with the beautiful countryside gliding by outside. One morning at breakfast, I realized that I had been taking that for granted and I didn’t again!

The Sundeck of the Viking Gefjon - the entire structure could be dropped, including the wheelhouse for going under low bridges. For several days we were not allowed upstairs due to the low bridges.
