edinburgh, scotland - Day 18 - July 29, 2023

Today we tendered into Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. We had been to Edinburgh 6 years ago with the Caliente Community Chorus. Last time we were there we walked the Royal Mile, saw the Castle, and Shelly sang in St. Giles. During the summer the main area of Edinburgh is an absolute zoo so we elected to go out of town a bit and see the Roslyn Chapel and Glenkinchie Distillery.

The Roslyn Chapel is famous featured in the movie of Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code. It was an interesting place that is full of strange symbolism - unfortunately they don’t allow photos inside. As with most movie things the areas that they used don’t look or feel anything like the real thing. We were interested in William the Chapel Cat’s (who has crossed the rainbow bridge) story as by this time in our trip we were really missing Mr. Tenuto.

We then proceeded to the Glenkinchie Distillery to see them make single malt scotch. The scotch was excellent and the process fascinating, but I’m not going to become a scotch drinker.
