split, croatia - DaY 14 - March 19, 2023

We had a late arrival in Split, Croatia after leaving Chioggia late last night — it was a refreshing morning to have a quiet breakfast in the Restaurant, as opposed to the buffet. We took a city walking tour around the old town of Split. The majority of the Old Town is made up of the huge Diocletian’s Palace and Fortress. There was a International flower show going on inside the fortress which made the photos a little strange. For you “Game of Throne” fans the fortress was the dragon’s lair.

Split is a city that changed hands many times in history as different groups went back and forth between the middle east and Europe. It is a very hard working country that is very friendly and loves the tourist dollars.
